Currently, only Sonos One, Play 5, Playbase, and the new Sonos Beam work with Apple’s wireless streaming service. One notable thing worth mentioning up front is that if you have one supported device, you can group it with the non-supported one to take the full advantage of the wireless streaming feature to stream music to multiple devices.

How to Update AirPlay 2 on Sonos Speakers

Step #1. Launch the Sonos app on your iOS device. Step #2. Now, tap on More in the bottom right corner and select Update. Next, you’ll be directed to the App Store to update the app. Step #3. Next up, relaunch the Sonos app. It will Check for Updates. Step #4. Up next,  tap on Update. Once it’s done successfully,  “Use AirPlay with Sonos” appears in the Sonos app. It offers you the green signal that you are ready to go!

How to Use Sonos Speaker via AirPlay 2

Step #1. Launch your favorite music app. I’m going to use Apple Music app. Then, play your favorite track. Step #2. When the song is playing, tap on audio source icon. Step #3. Next, Sonos speaker(s) will appear in the source list. Select it and you are done! Want to have more control over your music? Well, you can add the speaker to the Home app to ask Siri to play music on the Sonos device.

How to Enable HomeKit and Siri Control on Sonos Speakers

Step #1. Launch the Home app and tap + icon from the top right corner. Step #2. Now, tap on Add Accessory and select Don’t Have a Code or Can’t Scan. Step #3. Next, you need to select the Sonos speaker. Step #4. Next up, give it a cool name like “Rock On” and assign it a room. Once you successfully added the Sonos device, make the most of the personal speaker to stream music with ease. That’s all there is to it! Your take?
